Come, come, there are a lot of beautiful architectures, too.
Churches play the daily life role in Byzantium time, everyday, Byzantine orthodox churches are built mainly of stone, brick, and mortar. The inside is very beautiful.
What you should definitely go see is the famous Haga Sophia in Istanbul. Haga Sophia was built during the 530's and ranks as one of the most remarkable buildings in the history of architecture. The churches are made so that the great central dome is supported by smaller semi domes that cover the sanctuary to the east and the entrance to the west.

Also, the late churches are smaller and more modest than the churches of the early period. In the 800's, Byzantine architects began to build complex domed churches. One example of a later Byzantine church is the Church of the Holy Apostles in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Christian faith inspired magnificent architecture and artwork in the Byzantine Empire. With its square base and high dome, the cathedral Hagia Sophia served as a model for many Orthodox churches. The architecture of the church also reflects Orthodox views. The simple base represents the earthly world. Upon it rests the “dome of heaven.” Rich decorations on the inside were meant to remind worshippers of what it would be like to enter God’s kingdom. Now that's fun!
